Just after midnight, Conroe Police received a call for an alligator in the roadway at Sgt. Ed Holcomb and South Loop 336 in Conroe. Units responded. DPS Troopers also came upon the incident. It appeared the gator's tail had been run over but he was very much alive. The officers and troopers were able to coax it off the road but then the fun began as they attempted to relocate the gator. Using ropes and dog catcher catch poles they worked to get a noose over its mouth. The gator fought it until they succeeded. The gator was then loaded on Speedy's Wrecker. Keeping the gator on the wrecker bed the officers were able to take it several miles away and release it in a swamp south of populated areas.
